The device has a laser (1) serving as an imaging energy source that includes a pair of acceleration sensors (7, 8) and an actuator device. The acceleration sensors determine a relative movement of a component when an image is formed between the laser and the printing form (2). The actuator device placed between the imaging energy source and the printing form moves the imaging source. An Independent claim is also included for a method of setting an image on a printing form.
