Damping valve body comprises a base body (16) having one or more openings (13, 14) which are closed at the front end by an elastic or spring-loaded covering disk. The opening is sickle-shaped and the covering disk lies eccentrically on the front side of the base body. The covering disk lies with its outer edge on a peripheral bead (17) enclosing a recess into which the sickle-shaped opening opens. Preferred Features: The covering disk is circular. The damping valve body is held on its periphery in the associated component. The damping valve body can be used as a bypass piston or as a bottom valve in a two-pipe damper. The damping valve body is fixed to a piston rod as a working piston.
