The storage heater has an air outlet which is located above at least one convection channel (5,7,18) and a heat accumulator (9). The airflow volume through the air channels is determined at least partially or completely by an air flap (12) which is moved by a temperature regulator. The air outlet (11) is exchangeably connected to a cover plate (27) on the storage heater. The sides of the air outlet lie at least partially over the cover plate or frame component, and at least partially fit under the cover plate, or partially under and partially over it.
