A blank (290) for forming a frame for a diode lighting system for stage, theatrical and architectural lighting, comprising a plurality of radially extending petals (294) which are joined at a central portion (296). The petals (294) have slightly convex side edges (295) and straight outer edges (298). The blank (290) is configured to form a rigid ellipsoidal-shaped hollow frame in which diodes may be mounted. Solder pads (304) are provided on the blank to allow for the electrical connection of the diodes. Other blanks are provided to form other hollow volumes such as a cone and a hemisphere. |
