PRODUCTION OF CELLULOSE FIBER BY CONTINUOUS ALKALI TREATMENT METHOD

PURPOSE: A method of preparing cellulose fiber from cellulose acetate by a continuous alkali treatment method is provided which has simple manufacturing processes, low manufacturing costs and stable operation conditions. The obtained cellulose fiber has chemical structure and physical characteristic similar to conventional viscose rayon fiber and characteristics similar to cellulose fiber prepared by a liquid treatment method. CONSTITUTION: Fiber or a fiber product containing at least part of cellulose diacetate fiber having the degree of substitution of 2.0 to 2.75(the degree of acetification of 45 to 59.5%) is allowed to alkali treatment in a continuous alkali weight reduction apparatus to substitute 75% or more of the entire acetyl group to a hydroxyl group. In the alkali treatment, a alkali treatment concentration is 5 to 53%, a stream treatment time is 1 to 20min and the treatment is performed 1 to 10 times.
