The crank drive comprises a crankshaft (14) mounted in a ball bearing (13) inside a light alloy connecting rod (8). A fixing ring (16) is attached to the bearing and press-fits over the rod. The ring has the same coefficient of expansion as the bearing, which prevents the bearing from becoming loose. An Independent claim is included for a compressor fitted with the drive.
