PURPOSE: A system and a method for positioning a mobile terminal are provided to check the location of the mobile terminal by the reception time difference of a forward channel signal and a reverse channel signal received in each measurement device. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of measurement devices(30,40,50) installed in a service area of a base station measure the reception time difference of a forward channel signal and a reverse channel signal, and output the measured reception time difference, respectively. A location calculating device(70) responds to the measured reception time difference, and confirms the location of a mobile terminal.
