The wires to be welded are clamped and spaced apart symmetrically, held in holders whicha re at the welding potential and the ends are burnt for a brief period by passing them over the WIG arc. The electrode is passed over the wire ends at constant velocity and at the same distance from the wire ends of pairs of wres to be welded, or connecting lugs. The arc is pref. obtained from a WIg welding torch.. As the electrode passes over the pairs of wires for welding, it jumps from one pair to the next. Alternatively, if the electrode is stationary the wires move. |
