The drive rod securing edge gear is fitted in the rebate of a window or door wing frame, as in 1947523. The drive pinion has a recess for engagement by the quadrilateral pin of an operating handle. The recess has corners fitting the shape and arrangement of the side angles of the pin. Here the number of the corners (37), located at regular intervals, is an integral multiple of four. Where inserts are located in holes in the drive rod, the number of corners in the recess (25) is pref. equal to the number of teeth (26) on the drive pinion (24). |
