1325750 Valve assembly for oil burner pump O ECKERLE 10 Dec 1970 [12 Dec 1969] 58696/70 Heading F4T A quick-acting valve and regulating valve assembly for an oil burner pump includes a first path of connection between a pressure chamber 16 and a return chamber 19 of the quick-acting valve, said path being in the form of a throttle so constructed that with increasing pressure its cross-section decreases and/or its effective length increases and comprising one or more slots or cutouts 3 which widen continuously, for example conically, in the direction of flow therethrough, formed on the outer periphery, of a piston 2 in the axial direction. In operation, the pump initially delivers air until the system is deaerated, this air flowing in turn through bore 15, pressure chamber 16, bore 17, slots 3, regulating valve return chamber 12, bore 18, return chamber 19 and return bore 20. Subsequently, oil pressure rises until quick-acting piston 21 is lifted off valve seat 27, allowing oil flow through connection 23 to a combustion nozzle and establishing a further communication between pressure chamber 16 and return chamber 19 via bores 25 and 36. The piston 2, disposed in a cylindrical valve bush 1 in pump casing 10, may be made from a bearing needle and is acted on by a compression spring 5 which is adjustable by means of a valve screw 6. |
