PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to remove the residual materials in areas among wires in the wire part of high wire density, thereby preventing the wire reject caused by wire short. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes an insulating substrate, a plurality of wires for gate control signals formed on the insulating substrate, and a gate insulating film(30) covering the wires. The insulating film is formed with opening areas(N) on areas among the wires and a plurality of contact holes(H) for exposing the wires. The wires are connected to pads for the gate control signals via the contact holes. The wires(20) are in a dual structure of upper and lower metal layers(202,201), wherein the contact holes are formed in the insulating film and the upper metal layer, and the pads are connected to the lower metal layers of the wires.
