The rotation damper (1) has a casing (2) containing a working cavity (26) filled with a damping fluid (33). A shaft (8) to be subjected to the damping torque rotates round an axis (9) in the casing. Convection elements in the working cavity, in the form of scoops (18), are connected to the shaft. The damping level can thus be pre-set.
