PASSENGER CONVEYING FACILITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid passenger conveyor/stair lift type facility excellent in serviceability and cost performance. SOLUTION: The passenger conveying facility comprises a main frame 11 having an inclined section 20 in between an upper horizontal section 18 and a lower horizontal section 19; a plurality of steps 21 endlessly joined for circulation in the main frame 11; left and right balustrades 22 positioned on both sides of the steps 21 along the direction of their movement and supported by the frame 11; handrails 24 guided by the circumferences of the balustrades 22 and moving in synchronization with the steps 22; a passenger conveyor 10 having an exterior panel 27 covering a side of the frame 11 with the main frame 11 installed on a stair 4; and a stair lift 30 for conveying a wheelchair user, outside the passenger conveyor 10 and along the inclination of the stair 4 and engaged with a guide means 28 installed on the frame 11 and the exterior panel 27.
