PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated polyester film which is excellent in blocking resistance, flatness, taking-up properties and processability, and brings out excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristics when formed into a base film of a metal vapor deposition thin film type magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: The laminated polyester film is constituted by laminating a polyester layer A, a polyester layer B and a film layer C in this order. The polyester layer B contains 0.001 to 1 wt.% of inert particles B with a mean particle size of 50 to 1,000 nm, and the polyester layer A contains no inert particles or contains inert particles having a mean particle size smaller than that of the inert particles B. The film layer C comprises 20 to 60 wt.% of an acrylic resin (1) with the minimum film forming temperature (MFT) of 20 to 100 deg.C, 20 to 60 wt.% of a polyester (2) with a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 50 to 120 deg.C, 1 to 20 wt.% of inert particles (3) with a mean particle size of 10 to 80 nm and 1 to 30 wt.% of a surfactant (4).
