PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope apparatus which can maintain the diameter of an electronic scope at a small diameter and can suppress useless electric power loss and rising of heat even when a high-performance imaging element is used. SOLUTION: This electronic endoscope apparatus has the imaging element to perform imaging operation in accordance with at least first and second pulse signals and the electronic scope having an image signal amplifier for amplifying the image signals outputted from the imaging element at its front end. The above electronic endoscope apparatus has a signal forming means for forming the first and second pulse signals, a DC voltage forming means for forming the DC voltage for the imaging element and the image signal amplifier by using the first and second pulse signals within the electronic scope and an impression inhibiting means for inhibiting the impression of the DC voltage for the image signal amplifier formed by the DC voltage forming means, in which the impression inhibiting means is formed not to impress the DC voltage for the image signal amplifier to this amplifier at least during the driving stop period of the imaging element.
