PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a long fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin which attains quality to be able to eliminate or simplify a polishing process and a coating process in order to reduce a defective appearance such as a weld line and a sink mark and to improve productivity and is excellent in recycling properties and strength characteristics. SOLUTION: In the long fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin which contains reinforcing fibers and a thermoplastic resin and has a coating film layer on the surface, (A) the weight average fiber length of the reinforcing fibers is 0.1-1 mm, (B) the ten-point average roughness Rz defined by JIS B 0601 of at least a part of the surface of the coating film layer is 10-80μm, and (C) the specular reflection Gs (60 deg.C) defined by JIS Z 8741 of the surface is 30 or below.
