摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a head maintenance mechanism which drives a head cap and an ink suction pump by a common rotation-driving source so as to be small and compact. SOLUTION: For this head maintenance mechanism 1 for an inkjet printer, the rotation of a stepping motor 5, which is the common driving source, is transmitted to a limited rotation type cylindrical cam 11 which drives the head cap 2 and a wiper 3 through a reduction gear row 19, a pump gear 16 for driving a tube pump, and a frictional clutch mechanism 18. Also, by an intermittent gear 25 which is formed on the cylindrical cam 11, the cylindrical cam 11 is directly rotate-driven in a specified rotation range within a limited rotation angle range. In a cam groove 12 which is formed on the cylindrical cam 11, a cam groove section which moves the head cap 2 to an ink suction location wherein the head cap 2 is capped under a sealed state and an ink air suction location wherein the head cap 2 is capped under an atmosphere open state, is formed. A power transmitting mechanism which drives the head cap 2, the wiper 3 and the tube pump 4 can be constituted to be small and compact. Also, a position-detector for the cylindrical cam 11 is not required as well.
