PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car body structure for an automobile capable of smoothly transmitting a load applied to each member to other members by providing an extension in a rear floor side member, and connecting each member through the extension. SOLUTION: In this car body structure for an automobile wherein a trailing arm hanger for rockably supporting a trailing arm is fitted to the rear floor side member, the extension 50 is installed in a fitting part of the rear floor side member 20, to which the trailing arm hanger 60 is fitted, and the trailing arm hanger 60 is fitted to the extension 50.
