PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight freight-train car body to be easily manufactured and maintained. SOLUTION: The freight-train car body contains a square pipe-shaped lower chord member 10 arranged so that its longitudinal direction is along the front and rear direction of the car. The material of the lower chord member 10 is of an extruded member of aluminum series. This forms a hollow lead pipe part 14, 15 along the lower chord member 10 in the longitudinal direction projected inside from an inner surface of a peripheral wall 12A as one body. It forms a partition wall 22A along the longitudinal direction inside of the lower chord member 10 as one body so as to intersect with two peripheral walls making an inside corner part, constitutes a cylindrical part 24A having a closed section including the inside corner and wires a cable 26 and holds it inside the cylindrical part 24A.
