PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide long-handle shears solving the problem that it is practically impossible to utilize conventional intermediate-fulcrum type shears as tree pruning shears by lengthening the handles of the conventional shears because the distance between the handles gets widened in proportion to the length of the handles and thereby an operational limit causes on the shears. SOLUTION: The long-handle shears have the following structure: blade parts 9 and 11 of the shears intersect with each other at a fulcrum 13, the blade part 9 is connected to one of the handles, the blade part 11 is integrated with a crank 14 which makes a pivotally connecting bolt 16 slide, a plate bar member 10 is pivotally connected so as to turn at its tip part of the blade part 9 and has a long slide holes 15 at a predetermined position including a sliding point, round holes 18 or 19 each provided on the crank 14, and the long slide holes 15 are connected so as to slide via the pivotally connected bolt 16 to form a lever. This structure results in that the opening angles formed by both handles are always kept smaller than the angles formed by the blade parts, and thereby enables the handles to be lengthened.
