PURPOSE: A method for supplying an EIP(Enterprise Information Portal) solution using a virtual database is provided to solve a trouble of a bottleneck according to a number of data used in a company or the government by creating a virtual database using an XML(eXtensible Markup Language), accessing an XML document structure, an MS SQL of a conventional database server, and data recorded in other different databases directly, and constructing a company information portal based on a modification, a preparation, and an application technique. CONSTITUTION: An Internet user connects to a web site which supplies an EIP solution using a virtual database through one's client and requests user-wanted data such as a word processor document, various kinds of software, management programs, search keywords, etc.(S11). A web server checks member information, an ID, and a password stored in a database server for checking a right of the user(S12). If the user is a normal member, the web server requests a search of the data requested by the user to the database server, and the database server transmits the searched data to the web server(S13). The web server stores the data transmitted from the database server in a virtual database(S14). The user edits a document, searches information, reads and writes various kinds of software, and shares management program using data stored in the virtual database through the client(S15). The web server checks data stored in the virtual database(S16). If the user terminates a use of the virtual database, the web server updates data modified and edited from the user in the database server(S17).
