PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact planing boat using a four-cycle engine capable of preventing a flow-in of the oil of an oil pan into a combustion chamber even if the compact planing boat falls down (turned over or reversed). SOLUTION: This compact planing boat 1 is propelled by the water jet pressurized and injected by impellers 48 of a water jet pump, which is provided in the rear of a lower part of the planing boat, to slide on the water surface. As the engine 20 for driving the impellers, a four-cycle engine is used. A switch 18b for automatically stopping the engine when the planing boat falls down is provided. The fall switch 18b is fitted inside of an electric parts housing box 8 arranged inside a body of the compact planing boat 1.
