PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an ink jet head driver from breaking by an abnormal current and enable to make a printing after an ink jet head is recovered to normal in the ink jet head driver. SOLUTION: The ink jet head driver 20 discharges ink from a nozzle by a piezoelectric effect by driving an actuator B. The ink jet head driver 20 has a switching part 21 for supplying a driving current to the actuator B to drive and shift the actuator B, and a current limiting means 22 for limiting the current to flow to the switching part 21 for the current of a predetermined value or larger.
