PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling position of cutting torches is provided to improve sample cutting efficiency by enabling simultaneous cutting operation of a plurality of cutting torches for cutting a sample and enabling cutting operation in X and Y axis directions. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for cutting a sample using cutting torches adhered to the lower part of an up down position controller controlled by CNC (computer numerical control), the apparatus for controlling position of cutting torches comprises a rotation controller(10) comprising first gear(11) mounted on the lower side of the up down position controller(50), second gear(12) engaged with the first gear(11), and first motor(13) connected to the CNC (computer numerical control)(57) and connected to the central shaft(12a) of the second gear(12); and a lateral position controller(30) comprising a housing(34) mounted on the lower part of the central shaft(11a) of the first gear(11), a guiding screw(31) screw connected to a screw penetration hole(72a) of supporting body(72) of each of the cutting torches(70) in the housing(34) to guide the cutting torches(70), and second motor(33) mounted on the side part of the guiding screw(31) and connected to the CNC (computer numerical control)(57), wherein cutting position is freely controlled by controlling the CNC (computer numerical control)(57) so that the cutting torches(70) are vertically and horizontally moved and rotationally moved.
