PURPOSE: An automatic draining structure of a fuel filter of a diesel engine automobile is provided to conveniently drain water collected in a reservoir space in a lower part in a filter main body. CONSTITUTION: A fuel filter(10) has a filter body(17) installed on a circumference of an inner upper part of a filter main body(11), a fuel supply pipe(18) installed on a center of the inner upper part of the filter main body, and a reservoir space(12) formed in an inner lower part of the filter main body. A drain hole(11a) is formed on a center of an inner lower end of the filter main body. An opening and closing protrusion(15a) is formed in the reservoir space placed in the inner lower part of the filter main body. A float(15) comprises a lower cylinder(15') having a lower part sealed and an upper part opened, and a hollow upper cylinder(15") having an upper part and a lower part sealed, and joined to an inner upper part of the lower cylinder to be freely lifted. The opening and closing protrusion on a lower end of the float closes the drain hole(11a) on a center of a lower end of the filter main body as the float moves down if no water is in the reservoir space. The float is moved up to open the drain hole closed by the opening and closing protrusion so as to discharge water in the reservoir space when water contained in fuel passing the filter body is separated from fuel and collected in the reservoir space.
