PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a printing method having a verification function whereby it can be simply and clearly detected whether or not a one dimensional bar code or a two dimensional code is correctly printed within a designated paper size without requiring a scanner and a driver software for the printer, and a change/correction time, labor and costs can be minimized when the printing layout is changed again because of determining a printing layout and an increase in information amount. SOLUTION: Printing is carried out as it is by a printing region-forming means, a detecting means, a bit developing means and a region exceeding- detecting means when a printing region is not exceeded. A verification information-printing means is set for printing verification information so that the fact can be visually seen when the printing region is detected to be exceeded. |
