PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wastewater treatment apparatus having good energy efficiency. SOLUTION: The wastewater treatment apparatus 20 is equipped with an anaerobic tank 1 for applying anaerobic treatment to water to be treated, an aerobic tank 5 for aerobically treating water to be treated subjected to anaerobic treatment in the anaerobic tank 1 and an accelerated oxidation tank 6 for applying accelerated oxidation treatment to water to be treated subjected to aerobic treatment in the aerobic tank 5. Desulfurization equipment 2 for desulfurizing the gas generated in the anaerobic tank 1 is connected to the anaerobic tank 1 and a pretreatment apparatus 3 for removing a harmful component from the gas desulfurized in the desulfurization equipment 2 is connected to the desulfurization equipment 2. A cogeneration apparatus 4 generating electricity using the gas from which a harmful component is removed is connected to the pretreatment apparatus 3 not only to supply formed power to the accelerated oxidation tank 6 but also to supply generated heat to the anaerobic tank 1.
