FIELD: industrial organic synthesis catalysts. SUBSTANCE: catalyst for preparation of N-alkylated aromatic amines in absence of hydrogen is composed of, wt %: copper oxide 10.1-16.4, manganese oxide 2.4-4.0, chromium oxide 0.73-2.2, iron oxide 0.68-2.7, cobalt oxide 0.42- 1.4, and aluminum oxide - the balance. N-methylalanine is obtained with yield at least 98.5% by N-alkylation of aniline at 220-270 C and hourly contact loading 900 g per 1 cu.dm catalyst. Catalyst life before regeneration is 230 h.
