PURPOSE: A flap weir water gate and a construction method thereof are provided to achieve improved durability of the water gate, while reducing faults of the cylinder and installation costs. CONSTITUTION: A flap weir water gate comprises support structures(100) spaced apart from each other in the width-wise direction of a water channel; and a hollow gate body(1) connected between the support structures in such a manner that the hollow gate body is inclined and the lower portion of the gate body is rotatable. The gate body has a closed space(1a) formed in the vicinity of the front end of the width-wise direction of the gate body, and a cylinder(4) is disposed in the closed space. The cylinder has a top rotatably fixed to a support bracket(1b) which is fixed to the closed space, and a bottom rotatably fixed to a link(5) which is connected to a center shaft(2). The gate body rotates centering from the center shaft by the movement of the cylinder.
