PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tilt fixing device for a tilt type steering column capable of increasing strength of a cam member, and further improving tilt holding force. SOLUTION: A tilt bolt 32 is inserted from a tilt bracket 31 to a tilt lever 35. A fixed cam 36 and a movable cam 37 to generate tightening force are installed by engaging mutually facing cam elements with each other, and engaging bosses on back surfaces respectively with the tilt bracket 31 and the tilt lever 35. The fixed cam 36 is provided with a plurality of stopper protrusions 39 having arc length that can be stretched along a slit in the tilt bracket 31. |
