FIELD: veterinary science. SUBSTANCE: the method deals with a single subcutaneous injection of iodine during the period when gilts are weaned from sows at the dosage of 6-9 mg/gilt. Application of the present method provides higher quantity of embryos by 20-30%, quantity of yellow bodies by 7-12.1%, weight of ovaries by 24.2-37.5%, decreased embryonic lethality by 60-73%.
