MICRO CONTROLLER CAPABLE OF MODIFYING PROGRAM AND METHOD FOR DRIVING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A micro controller capable of modifying a program and a method for driving the same are provided to execute a bug found portion using a modified program without manufacturing a chip for reducing a manufacturing term for modifying a bug and improving a yield of a product. CONSTITUTION: A ROM(200) stores a program for operating a micro controller. A RAM(400) stores data while the micro controller is operated. A programmable external ROM(100) stores a bug-modified portion of the program stored in the ROM(200). When the micro controller is operated initially, a modification RAM(300) receives a bug-modified program in the external ROM(100). A modification block(700) compares an execution address of the ROM(200) with an address of a program having a found bug. If two addresses are identified, the modification block(700) creates a command for temporarily stopping an operation of the ROM(200) and executing the program of the modification RAM(300). A CPU(500) controls an operation of the micro controller through a data bus(800) and an address bus(900). An inverter(600) is provided for inverting a stop signal of the ROM(200) in the modification block(700).
