PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dynamic pressure bearing spindle motor which reduces frictional torque while maintaining electric continuity between a rotating member and a static member, and restrains wear of components and generation of wear powder. SOLUTION: Bimetal 10 wherein an upper layer is constituted of a member having a coefficient of expansion larger than that of a lower layer is connected with an upper end of a shaft 2. The bimetal 10 is energized upward and made to abut against a hub 7 before motor driving. When a motor starts driving, a temperature of the bimetal 10 is increased by friction heat between the hub 7 and the bimetal 10. It deflects downward and makes a state of noncontact with the hub 7. When a temperature is decreased in the state of noncontact, the bimetal 10 deflects upward and again comes into contact with the hub 7.
