PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, as switching of an input signal, reproduction, stop, or making a program ready for viewing the program recorded in a storage medium is required, there are many different points in an operating method required for selecting programs during broadcasting and contents of record programs, and a complicated operation was necessary for selecting contents crossing both. SOLUTION: In a content reproducer, record contents are allocated to a channel not used for broadcasting as a virtual channel, whereby not only broadcasting programs but also programs stored in a storage medium can be reproduced by designating a channel number by a channel up/down key or a ten key. With this arrangement, a reproducing method is switched by an assortment of operations of channel selection.
