METHOD FOR ESTIMATING TRANSFORMATION OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL POLYHEDRAL SURFACE

PURPOSE: A method for estimating transformation of a three-dimensional polyhedral surface is provided to reliably and accurately estimate a complex and minute motion of a mesh through a multi-resolution. CONSTITUTION: An input mesh and a target mesh are simplified to generate a basic input mesh and a basic reference mesh. A motion is estimated from the generated basic input mesh and the basic reference mesh. Resolutions of the basic input mesh and the basic reference mesh are increased by referring the estimated motion and a new motion is estimated. The basic input mesh is transformed by referring the estimated motion. It is judged whether the transformed mesh satisfies preliminarily set conditions.
