PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitting/receiving system that can easily acquire information with respect to a preview. SOLUTION: A transmitting set transmits an event information table EIT including information on whether each of the contents can be previewed, in what time period each of the contents can be previewed, how many times a day each of the program can be previewed, and so on. The receiving set displays the information to provide it to viewers, and decides whether to play a preview on the basis of the information.
