PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor which enables improvement in the assembly workability. SOLUTION: A first core member 5 comprises a first core segment connection member, composed of a plurality of core segments which are connected to each other with flexible connection parts, and a second core segment connection element, composed of a plurality of core segments which have recessed parts formed on the sides opposite to pole tooth parts and are connected to each other with flexible connection parts. The first core segment connection element and the second core segment connection element are layered and unified, to form the first core member 5. A second core member 8 comprises a first core segment having protruding parts, which are formed at same intervals as those of the respective recessed parts of the first core member and can be coupled with the recessed parts of the first core member 5, on one side thereof and a second core segment having the same width same as the width of the first core segment. The first core segment and the second core segment are layered and unified, so as to have the first core segment in the same layer as the second core segment connection element and to have the second core segment in the same layer as the first core segment connection element for forming the second core member 8. Respective protruding parts 6a of the second core member 8 are coupled with the respective recessed parts 4b of the first core member 5 and the first and second core members 5 and 8 are unified with each other to form a core 13.
