PURPOSE: A method for realizing picture-in-picture is provided to reduce the sizes of an external memory and an internal memory, and realize PIP-processed video while minimizing image quality deterioration. CONSTITUTION: I and P pictures in video frame data decoded from a video decoder(10) are stored at a video frame area(22) of an external memory(20). A B picture is stored at a macro block memory(35) inside a PIP signal processor(30) by macro block units without being stored at the external memory. B picture data is operated to make PIP and data of the operation result is stored at a PIP area(24) of the external memory. Then, I and P picture data are stored at the macro block memory of the PIP signal processor. The I and P picture data are stored at the PIP area of the external memory after being operated. |
