PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic device, a file selecting method of the portable electronic device, and a host device capable of shortening processing time required for selecting a used file even if identification information used when selecting the file is not completely seized. SOLUTION: An IC card 1 determines DF definition information coincident with a DF name 307 designated by a DF selecting command from definition information on a directory when receiving the DF selecting command of access frequency order, and outputs information on the DF definition information determined as the largest in an access frequency among the DF definition information coincident with the DF name to an external part as a response. |
