PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intelligent font having information on the order of strokes or the like by analyzing center line information from an outline font and generating outline data from that center line. SOLUTION: A step (1) for preparing 'character basic information' and a step of procedure (2) for preparing 'character basic weight information' which are common to all fonts as a prestage of intelligent font preparation are performed to all the characters of a code system. By using the basic information, a character can be generated by combining outlines characterizing the center line vector of components constructing the character on the basis of a font corresponding to the font prepared from a step of procedure (3) for finding 'font component information' from a plurality of characters, a step of procedure (4) for finding 'character radical information' from a plurality of characters, a step of procedure (5) for finding 'font deformation information' from a plurality of characters and a step of procedure (6) for finding 'font weight deformation information' from the 'character basic weight information' which are intelligent font preparation steps. Therefore, such an intelligent font having the information on the order of strokes is prepared.
