PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcasting system and a method for switching and providing a name called on a television program acceding to viewer's requests. SOLUTION: This system is provided with a digital contents receiver 30 provided on the side of the user requesting a name change service and a digital broadcasting server 10 for providing the television program under broadcasting received by the digital contents receiver and providing the television program switched to the requested name to the digital contents receiver when switching of the name called on the television program to the other name is requested. Therefore, the viewer can view the television program, in which the name called on the television program under broadcasting is switched to his/her name or to the name of the acquaintance, and a viewing effect having more presence can be provided. Further, in the case of viewing a remote educational program, when the name of the viewer is called, concentration is improved and an educational effect is improved.
