PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for a home automation (HA) system that prevents an illegal access from other telephones than an approved mobile telephone with high security from a remote place when the approved mobile telephone controls the HA system. SOLUTION: The HA system installed in a user's house (in-house set-top box) is characterized in that when the HA system makes a call to a mobile telephone registered in advance and a line is connected to the mobile telephone, the HA system transmits status data of its own, the mobile telephone transmits a control signal to the HA system in the form of responding to the status data, and the HA system controls itself based on the control signal.
