PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a processing time when detecting an electric charge signal by a correlative double sampling processing by use of an integral amplifier. SOLUTION: In a signal detecting method, an integral amplifier is switched to an accumulation mode to start accumulating electric charge signals, and a first electric signal output from the integral amplifier immediately after having switched to the accumulation mode is held. The accumulation of the electric charge signals is ended and just before the integral amplifier is switched to a reset mode, a difference between a second electric signal output from the integral amplifier and the held first electric signal is obtained to set as a signal component. Further, a processing that this signal component is converted into a digital signal to output is repeatedly carried out. Next, the signal component obtained in the first electric charge signal is held by a second signal holding part 33, and this held signal component is converted into the digital signal. After the accumulation of the first electric charge signal is ended, before the conversion into the digital signal is ended, the integral amplifier 35 is switched into the accumulation mode to start accumulating second electric charge signals.
