PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an output voltage detection value which is not delayed, is stable, and has high precision and to improve the precision of charging a capacitor, accordingly. SOLUTION: In a capacitor charging method where an output voltage of a converter circuit, having an inverter made to operate by making the pulses driven with a certain frequency, and a load capacitor is charged to have a set voltage by using the detected output voltage, the detected value of the output voltage in a period, after the driving pulse is inputted to the inverter, within the width of the drive pulse, and while a current is not being applied to the load capacitor, is used as the detected value of the output voltage.
