PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generator, electric apparatus, and an ion generating method, capable of ensuring sufficient ion concentration and of suppressing an ozone concentration. SOLUTION: A creeping discharge electrode 501 for generating ions as an ion generating electrode is formed on a dielectrics 502 made of ceramics as an insulator, and is arranged at a bottom surface side of a ventilation trunk 503 made of plastic, serving as a passage of airflow 405. The airflow 405 is blown at a current speed of F by a blast fun not shown. A pulse wave with a cycle of a sum of a voltage applying time Ti and a rest time Ts, is applied to the ion generating electrode. A product of the rest time Ts and the current speed F of the airflow is made larger than a diameter of a plasma zone generated during ion generation.
