PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car audio system which allows user's favorite combination by easily attaching and detaching an operation panel and has a high strength and has play suppressed and of which the front of the main body can be fully opened at the time of opening. SOLUTION: A main body 10 of the audio system is provided which is stored in a console box 1 in a cab and has an opening part 12 in the exposed front, through which a recording medium having prescribed information recorded is taken in and out, and reproduces and reads the information by insertion of the recording medium into the opening part 12, and a pair of rails 20 are provided which are arranged in the front of the main body 10 and are extended for a prescribed length from the upper part of the main body 10 downward beyond the bottom part of the main body 10, and an operation panel 30 is provided which is slidably supported by the rails 20 and can vertically ascend and descend along the rails 20 extended from the upper part to the bottom part of the main body 10 and ascends to the front of the main body 10 to slide to a closing position for closing the opening part 12 and descends down the main body 10 to slide to an opening position for opening the opening part 12.
