PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evade the collision of an optical system to an optical disk, easily and surely as compared with the conventional practice, as to the optical disk device, specially in the optical disk device which is irradiated with laser beams by the optical system having a large number of apertures. SOLUTION: The operation of an arithmetic process means 18 is monitored by a separate circuit 22, and in accordance with this monitoring result, an accident preventing signal to keep the optical system 10 away from the optical disk 4 is supplied to a movable means 11, in place of a driving signal S2 of the arithmetic process means 18.
