PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical device wherein the yield is improved by suppressing generation of local defects due to deformation of the end part of an electrode in an electrolyte and by preventing short-circuiting between the electrodes accompanied with it in the electrochemical device wherein a group of electrodes in which a positive electrode and a negative electrode are alternately laminated via an electrolyte are housed inside a case and wherein the electrodes have leads respectively. SOLUTION: In the electrochemical device wherein the group of electrodes 16 in which the positive electrode 13 in which a positive electrode active substance 131 is formed on one surface of a positive electrode current collector 132 and the negative electrode 14 in which a negative electrode active substance 141 is formed on one surface of a negative electrode current collector 142 are alternately laminated via the electrolyte layer 15 are housed inside the case 12, and wherein the positive electrode 13 and the negative electrode 14 have the leads 18 respectively, it has an electrically insulating layer 17 on a part of the surface of the positive electrode 13 and/or of the negative electrode 14. |
