PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert pieces of data into data arrangement to be easily addressed by a high speed processing after receiving or before transmitting the pieces of data when an interface device is installed to a main device with a different addressing system and data transmission is performed with the main device in the interface device for performing communication with other devices capable of coping with many kinds of main devices. SOLUTION: The interface device is provided with a first interface 3 for performing data communication with the other device 1 (computer) via a network 2 and a second interface 14 capable of performing the data communication with the main device (printer) 4, in the data communication using the second interface, the addressing system (endian information) is acquired from a ROM 15 of the main device 4 and the pieces of data before transmission are replaced by using a hardware selector by a prescribed law by every prescribed data length in the interface device corresponding to the information. Pieces of data indicating the addressing system are transmitted and received by using the same value by every prescribed data length.
