PURPOSE: A calling method between gatekeepers in mutually different regions is provided to use VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) routers to perform communication between each different gatekeepers, so as to enable a call between terminals of the different regions. CONSTITUTION: A VoIP router-1(50) transmits a registration request message to a gatekeeper-1(20) to register an alias and an IP of the VoIP router itself, and receives a registration confirm message from the gatekeeper-1(20). If the first phone terminal is hooked off to dial the second phone terminal, the VoIP router-1(50) transmits an admission request message to the gatekeeper-1(20). The gatekeeper-1(20) requests location request multi-casting to external gatekeepers, because the second phone terminal is not registered therein. A gatekeeper-2(40) in which the second phone terminal is registered responds to the gatekeeper-1(20) in a location confirm message for an IP of a VoIP router-2(60) or an IP of the gatekeeper-2(40). The gatekeeper-1(20) transmits an admission confirm message to the VoIP router-1(50) to admit a call. The VoIP router-1(50) transmits a Q.931 message to the VoIP router-2(60) by passing the gatekeeper-1(20) and the gatekeeper-2(50). The VoIP router-2(60) gains call admission from the gatekeeper-2(40) and transmits a Q.931 connection message to the VoIP router-1(50). After performing H.245 call signaling, a call is performed between the first and second phone terminals.
